'Gioi is a wonderful teacher and I had the pleasure of being her student for 4 years! She truly cares for her students and has a genuine interest in their progress as a musician and well-being as a person. 'Gioi is passionate about music and works well with people. She MD'd and directed 'The Sound of Music' production with my drama group. She always does her absolutely all with every performance. She is devoted and determined even during rehearsals. Gioi has a lovely voice and incredible creative talent and which she utilizes in her teaching. I enjoyed her enthusiasm and getting everyone motivated in the choir it was a wonderful experience!' ~ Sarah, Singer & Actress
'Gioi taught my daughter Muscial Theatre singing for several years and in that time she proved to be an excellent role model. She was patient, kind but firm and always encouraged my daughter to strive to do her best. My daugher's singing voice developed and improved enourmously in that time and so did her confidence. Gioi proved that with the right attitude and a willingness to work hard, amazing things are possible. I never though my daughter would stand up in front of a crowd and sing on her own, but that is precisely what she achieved.' - Jocelyn, Teacher & mother.

Gioi works best with focused students who are keen to invest in daily practice and make rapid progress. Her teaching style is suited to those who truly love playing.
With over 15-years experience as a freelance piano accompanist, Gioi has explored a wide variety of music. She achieved her Associate Diploma in Classical Piano from AMEB in 2012, and delights in the collaborative experience of accompanying as much as playing solo repertoire.
Gioi had a residency at the Hyatt Regency Hotel for a full year leading up to the COVID-19 lockdowns, and regularly plays at other local venues.
I love the story of the great Martha Argerich, who as a little girl at kindergarten was bullied by a boy who told her she couldn't do things.
When he told her she couldn't play the piano, despite never having touched the instrument in her life, rather than go sob in a corner, she waltzed straight up and played the two-handed piece the teacher had been playing.
Needless to say, the kid ate his words, and look at her now! I want that type of gumption for myself and my students.
Violin and Viola
After 30-years of teaching violin & viola, Gioi is taking a well-earned sabbatical to focus on piano & singing students.
Gioi worked as a freelance classical violist for over a decade. Primarily playing in string quartets for weddings and corporate functions, but with orchestral and other chamber music experience. She has an Advanced Level Ensemble Certificate with Distinction from ABRSM playing viola in Eu4ria! String Quartet https://www.artshub.com.au/education/news-article/news/arts-education/media-release/eu4ria-string-quartet-attend-summer-school-169577
Gioi studied both violin and viola to an advanced level and is well researched in good string playing techniques. She was Head of Strings and Singing at Kingsway Christian College for several years.
She now plays 5-string electric violin at her Gioiosa gigs and still delights in playing viola in quartets when the opportunity arises.
Don't just practice until you get it right, practice until you can't get it wrong!
